For The Kids...
Thank you for taking the time to browse this site. As you know I have been involved in various volunteer programmes focusing on children, their education and particularly, their safety and overall wellbeing. Those that know me personally, know that I would not make contact with regards to requests for assistance in respect of my projects insofar as empowerment, etc is concerned, were it not of extreme importance. This is one of those rare occassions where i have to ask for your kind assistance please or perhaps, in the words of Mohandis Ghandi, “I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” You see, the number of children in desperate need is escalating daily and my fundraising efforts in the past are no longer sufficient to assist these children. I am therefore appealing to your kindness in the hope that you would take a minute to read on and learn about Children International and how easy it is to change one child's life for the better and to experience the impact sponsorship can have on your life as well as the life of a needy child. You'll be amazed at how much just $22 (about R140.00) a month can do or even a donation once in a while.
That’s all it takes to make a real and lasting difference in the life of one child.
I need your support to help me reach those impoverished children, they need the support of a good person like you.
We can no longer ignore the fact that children worldwide are dying...and you can help
What Your Child Receives:
When you choose to sponsor a needy boy or girl, your regular gift of just $22 a month will help provide your sponsored child with important assistance such as: medical and dental care education clothing and shoes vocational training and most importantly nutrition
Plus, the friendship you share with your child will provide the encouragement he or she needs to become a confident, self-reliant adult and i have seen this for myself:
A little over a year ago, I begun tutoring Sipho (name changed) from Khayelitsa. When we met he had been expelled from 2 different schools that year! He had a learning disability I had been told! I had to sit alongside him during his examination as he could not understand or read the questions on the paper...
3 days ago Sipho received his year end exam results - not only had he written his English paper without any assistance from me but he had read, answered and passed the examination! How? Because he knew he had someone who cared... You could be that person for a child out there...
