About Sponsorship
Thank you for visiting our Lift One Project page. With this webpage, we hope to accomplish big things...life-changing things!
We want to introduce you to an organization and a solution that addresses a cause that is very important to us: child poverty.
CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL has been around since 1936,a nd currently assists over 300,000 children in 11 countries. They connect very poor children to caring sponsors. We are proud to be sponsors and we are asking you to learn more about sponsorship and hopefully become a sponsor to a child in need.
CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL Sponsorship is a very personal way to improve a needy child's life. It gives you a chance to share a unique relationship with one special child.
Through regular contributions, sponsors help provide impoverished children with basic necessities, such as medical and dental care, educational assistance, durable clothing and shoes, improved living conditions and much more.
As a sponsor, you'll be making a real difference in a needy child's life...and helping make the world a better place.
WHY BECOME A SPONSOR?
It gives you a chance to share a unique relationship with a child. As a sponsor, through regular contributions, you'll help provide important benefits to a special child living in poverty. CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL's goal is to help children become self-reliant, productive citizens of their communities.
ONE-TO-ONE RELATIONSHIP
While CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL does help hundreds of thousands of children and their families, their programs are set up to work one on one. This way you know your child will have only one sponsor...you! Your name will be shared with your child, which contributes to creating a lasting bond between you and your sponsored child.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
Contributions are used on programs that focus on individual needs. This way it's possible to provide essential benefits to individual boys and girls.
Each month, sponsorship funds are combined to support activities to help sponsored children. The amount sent to each of the field projects is based on the funds received from sponsors, approved budgets, and the total number of sponsored children in each project.
WRITING A CHILD
Exchanging letters with your sponsored child can help build a wonderful relationship that will be rewarding to you both. You may even include pictures of yourself so your child will really get to know you. Because most sponsored children do not read English, a staff member in the field office will translate your letter. Both your original letter and the translation are given to your child.
Because we believe in CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL's work, we are encouraging you to experience the impact sponsorship can have on your life and the life of a needy child. You'll be amazed at how much good you can do for only $22 a month!
You can learn more about CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL and how easy it is to change one child's life through sponsorship by going to their website at http://www.children.org.
When you are ready to sponsor, please come back here and click on the "SPONSOR NOW" button at the top left of this page, so that your name will be added to our "Honor Roll"!

The Joy of Sponsorship
|
Our Way of Changing the World
************************************************************
“We choose to rise up out of that storm and see that in moments of desperation, fear, and helplessness, each of us can be a rainbow of hope, doing what we can to extend ourselves in kindness and grace to one another."
************************************************************
We have been sponsoring thru CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL since December, 2005 and currently sponsor 5 children (Deison & Elizabeth in Colombia, Martha & Dailess in Zambia and John in the Philippines) thru Children International.
We had been somewhat apprehensive about the whole sponsorship program at first, but have overcome that with having seen that sponsorship really does work! Our greatest joy is receiving regular letters and drawings from the children...and seeing how having a sponsor has made such a positive affect on each of the children!
We have created our own website to share our sponsorship experiences, as well as to bring awareness to the many children living in poverty throughout the world.
Within our website, you will read about our sponsorship experiences; meet our sponsored children thru their letters & photos and links which will direct you to how you, too, can become a sponsor!
We've also included a "Featured Children" page, which features select children currently awaiting sponsorship and a "Wall of Honor", which honors those who sponsor a child thru a direct link from our website, as well as featured children that have found sponsors.
